So, we slept late and walked through some of medieval Galway to the Spanish Arch, built in the 1500's
Spanish Arch - not really its original name but possibly referring to trade down with the Spanish that came through this area.
went to Ard Bia when it opened. This cute restaurant was originally a storage house where fishermen kept their catch until sold. Quite small (but bigger than The Pie Maker) but great decor, service and lovely food.
Breakfast Bap - sound more interesting than Breakfast on a bun, which is what it is. But it was tasty and a few steps up from say a Starbucks breakfast sandwich!
Turkish Beans with poached egg and "pigs on the green" sausage - very good!
With taking pictures for the blog and thinking about it, I found this guy interesting writing a journal as he was with pen and paper...
A little walk around the harbor area - Ard Bia from behind and part of the "Long Walk" of buildings down the pier.
The Long Walk from the Claddagh side of the river
A church in Claddagh that we liked for its "grotto of St Bernadette".
Swans on the river Corrib
old black-bottomed boats - coated with tar
And now back to rest a little - we looked at our fitbits and realized we'd walked about 14,000 steps per day the past couple of days - much more than my knee was doing previously - usually about 5,000. So Bill worked on work email and I sorted pictures and worked on this blog.
